‘Selena is a very special friend, and it’s been so fun to get to work with her for the first time. Well, actually, second time. She actually hired me when I had just become a model, and she had designed a clothing line.

‘We have known each other a long time. And, of course, working with Steve Martin and Martin Short is like a master class in comedy. I feel so lucky to get the opportunity.’

John Hoffman, who co-created the show with Martin, told Entertainment Weekly last month that the second season explores the relationships between Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selina Gomez’s characters.

‘There’s a growing familiarity among them, for sure, now in season two, which also brings tests to the trust they’ve built, and a deeper reliance on each other as their main sources of support,’ Hoffman told the publication. ‘Can they step up for each other, when doing so may risk something they really want for themselves?’

The 40-year-old Emmy winner ‘plays a slightly unbearable version of herself’ subleasing Sting’s penthouse unit, who wants to adapt the Only Murders podcast for the screen.

And Grammy nominee Michael Rapaport is also new to the cast as Detective Kreps, who’s investigating Bunny’s murder.

Steve Martin and Martin Short both earned $600K/episode to executive produce and star as crime podcasters in Only Murders in the Building last season, so it’s safe to say pop star Selena earns the equivalent.

Season two of Only Murders in the Building debuts with two new episodes on Hulu and Disney + June 28; new episodes will be released each Tuesday.
